An older man comes to serve my drink and it's covered in full dairy cream.I begin explaining that I can not have this because the cream isn't Lactose free and I ordered it LF for an allergy. (Which I stated earlier as I asked if the drink was Lactose Free before ordering. He immediately bristles up angrily and starts talking down at us. Raising his voice and saying that yes it's cream but the milk is lactose free so it's fine. He also informed me it had ice cream in it. That was not lactose free. I tried to explain how lactose intolerance worked. But he kept rudely talking over me. He didn't offer a work around and instead we bought a different drink. Please beware if you have allergies or intolerances. They will serve you the food you can not have anyways. It's negligent and they could have made me seriously ill.
We had a BLT milkshake. Both were great. The BLT was fresh tasty, the best I’ve ever eaten. I recommend!
The cafe owner hovered around my table staring at me until I LITERALLY took my last sip of coffee, when he came straight up to me and asked me to leave. I’d been there 20 minutes (less time than others I could see around me), but because I was solo and had some papers on the table, he decided it was ok to kick me out. I know Covid has made things difficult, but there was a more polite way to have done that. Terrible service and even if the coffee was alright. Won’t be coming back!!
Yet again “cafe au lait “ disappoints but this time to a new low. After spending 15mins in the cue, 10 mins explaining to the Asian lady on the till, that I just wanted a “plain bacon sandwich” and a “pot of tea” nothing else. She finally seemed to have registered my order, (not before listing all the other options she thought would, somehow go well with my bacon) Finally sent me to table 12 where another customer was already sitting. Eventually table 10 was found to be the designated table. After 1 min my tea arrived only to be followed 10 mins later by a beautiful bacon/lettuce/tomato/cucumber sambo topped with cheese. A delightful sight for someone who may have ordered that. I explained my predicament and the man brought it bk to the kitchen. Another 10 mins passed when Finally my plain bacon sambo arrived, and boy was it plain. Yesterday’s white bread, no butter(as requested earlier) bacon crisped into oblivion all to be washed down by my now cold English breakfast tea. What an absolute joke of an establishment . The staff have zero to very limited English with communication levels amongst themselves even worse. This is the 3rd or 4th time something similar has happened me at this establishment and shame on me for getting sucked in again. At least I had the privilege of handing over my hard earned $12 for slops. Not to mention the hours wrk I’ve lost hanging around this dive of a cafe expecting to get fed. An absolute disgrace of a place. Shame on the owners, shame on Westfield for even having them in the building. Everybody do yourself a favour and avoid this place at all costs. Regards Ticked off Tradie
After a busy shopping trip at Aldi, I happened upon Cafe au Lait. I indulged in their cheese and ham croissant and coffee combo to boost my energy levels. I also ordered an extra coffee to make sure I was fully awake before hitting the road again. The cafe had a welcoming atmosphere, a friendly crowd, and offered table service after ordering at the counter. The prices were reasonable and the food was fresh and tasty. The coffee was just right and helped me start my day off on the right foot.
