Herb's Backyard Pizza And Beer

We placed an order for pick up and they forgot it. My partner then had to wait in the rain and cold for 20 minutes. The pizza didn’t seem to be cooked properly and was overly soggy and just not great. We got a garlic and Margherita and neither were good, which is pretty hard to mess up!

Food was below average pub food. Service was poor and slow. Drinks prices were astronomical. Wouldn't bother going there again.

We went to the Yarra valley grand for a parma on cup day which was an excellent idea and also possibly the only time I’ve been unable to finish this pub classic. Granted it was absolutely ginormous and completely delicious so I made a valiant attempt. In terms of the venue there’s lots of different areas all of which seemed more aesthetic than the one we were seated in which was quite dark and dingy. Outside sitting either in the back or front of the venue would have been a superior option but being a public holiday I booked ahead unsure of the weather given it is Melbourne and so went for the safer choice. Impressive exterior and certainly embodies the name grand. Definitely worth a return visit

If you are driving through Yarra Glen and want an absolutely delicious pizza and chips, then do yourself a favour and pick up some on your way past Herbs Backyard Pizza. It is delicious. Only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is because the toilets were FILTHY
