I also tried the ice coffee wine (aged in egg barrels for 22 years) that was 2000¥ for a spoon! I really enjoyed it, regardless of it. a must try a coffee person willing to get out of the beaten track a bit.
I was recommended to visit a coffee shop “Munich” in a quiet suburban area. • the owner of the coffee shop – kanji tanaka is a very friendly and linguistic coffee enthusiast! • it recommended to try its special mix Spartan terrarium (Indonesia, Tanzania, Jamaica, Colombia) which was produced on unusual wise: 1.5 kg of borons were poured with 200cc water in a nel drip system for 4 hours, then it was driped for 3 hours. • pay to them! the coffee is extremely strong! • the taste is creamy, oily, rich, bitter and for me it was a strong note of soy sauce or sweet thick balsamic vinegar. • the cup costs 1,300 ¥ (and it was the most expensive cup coffee I have ever drunk) for 20cc coffee. • the super special and the most expensive coffee in the shop is aged for 25 years in an egg barrel and made from the same Spartan mixture. • Tanaka-san gave me a spoon of this coffee for tasting and it was nothing like coffee! the taste is sweet wine-like, super smooth and full body, oily as well. • unforgettable experience!
The owner is passionate about his coffee, his work and his life. he was friendly and very enthusiastic with his pocket translator who communicated with us. besides the great coffee he served, he also proudly showed his monoblock western electric wt25 tube amplifier. the sound of the vintage speakers would like all audiophiles. the munch is simply amazing.
I had such a special experience to visit today. it was strongly recommended by a friend, and when I arrived, the master was very welcoming. he asked about my coffee preferences and came back with various drinks for my friends and I. my espresso came into a cup he explained was from the Edo period, 350 years old. it was different than any other coffee I had before. he explained that he used 150 grams of coffee beans for my only serving. he also told my group how he had the same coffee he served me in a barrel that matured since 1995 and created something like an ice-cream coffee. I tried a spoon of it and went into the sky. the whole experience - which waited to let the coffee come to room temperature before he let him drop out of the barrel and knew that it was the only coffee as he was in the world - was amazing. the master is charming and very warm, I cannot wait to visit again.
The best coffee I ever had. Ask for the signature only in Japan . The coffee is served in Baccarat glass and it is served in cold. Its taste is so deep, aromatic, and powerful. it is totally my pleasure to have chance drinking it.
