Petit Resort Der Barte - Yamagata

Very nice little hotel right to the ski slopes. The hosts are so friendly and welcoming. The rooms are pretty simple. You speak English and have menus with English.

5 nights in February. Great people who were so helpful, even with transport and skiatrouilles, first help when I had a ski-hexepsy. The location is great ski-in/out, but getting the luggage to the hotel requires a 40m luggage on the ski slope. I see others commented on alternative approaches to get luggage in place. We had a 2 bedroom with separate shower room and toilet room. Everything very comfortable and enough space for our 4 big cases. Ducted water heaters that you can adjust as you like. Great view from the room in two directions, but I think we were spoiled. There are two common bath quazi onsen if you don't want to sneak into the village. Good breakfast at 7:30 and dinner at 6:00. An absolutely fantastic time here.

The location is amazing, the chalet itself is beautiful and really brings the ski vibes. the rooms are quite average tho, at least those we had. The bathroom is kish, but you should be on the onsen. Eating is good, but nothing incredible. We are a little disappointed for the price we pay, let us say most on the price just go on the site

Comfortable reasonably priced , extremely helpful English speaking staff.. Rooms are comfortable and spacious. Breakfasts are ... interesting ! A very Swiss type feel has been achieved. WiFi is topnotch. Location is on one of the main slopes and seriously genuine ski in and out. If using a taxi to get there, it is worth checking the map as a large hotel just higher up the hill has road access and carting bags downhill is much easier than sledding them uphill. I would not hesitate in returning.
