This restaurant serves delicious German items such as wood-fired breads, fruit bread, and gugelhupf. The almond croissant they offer, however, is not traditional French style. While tasty, it lacks the light, flaky pastry expected in a croissant. Instead, it is more like a dense bread/cake. I would recommend trying the German items instead, as they are done exceptionally well here.
They bake their own woodfired bread and so much more, all quality goods. My wife's toastie was delicious and more than she could eat and my hotdog with German Sausage in a homebaked bun with sauerkraut and mustard was the best ever. We shared a large cinnamon bun to finish off a very enjoyable lunch. Will come back for more!
We unfortunately arrived in Yallingup on a Monday, so we had to wait until Wednesday when they opened to try the Fruit Loaf that others on TripAdvisor had recommended. It was delicious for breakfast when toasted, filled with fruit but not overly sweet due to the low sugar content. A great product indeed.
This German bakery has quality baked goods. The wood fired breads which they bake at their other premises the Yallingup bakery, are outstanding! We tried the dense rye, white and wheat and rye all delicious. They sell jams and honey which are quality. Can recommend the apricot and amaretto fig and ginger jams. The Southern Forests honey $18 for 900g was much better value than the yallingup general store which had 375g of same honey for $15. Hot dogs, quiches, pastries, cakes, everything they make is delicious and a cut above the rest. Closed on Tuesdays (only day we didnt purchase something). Highly recommend
