Super nice host and his lovely wife. We had the brisket dinner that was amazing, it was fork tender and melted in your mouth. Home made sides were delicious too.. Restaurant was clean and inviting. We got the smoke, turkey and beef ribs. They both had such good flavoring that we did not need any of the sauces. Very rich taste and moist. Highly recommend and would absolutely stop back when we're in the area. If you are ever driving through, slam on the brake and take a short detour off 77 and STOP at High Plains Barbecue! I had brisket (juicy, perfectly seasoned and hearty portion Mac n' cheese (creamy, well seasoned, perfect! and coleslaw (again, very well seasoned vinegar based slaw with diced bell peppers . Hubby had 1/2 rack ribs (he says they were meaty with a dry rub and excellent sauces , coleslaw and potato salad which I describe as better than my Mom's (please don't tell her! : . We shared a peach cobbler, made inhouse with locally made ice cream. Delicious! There is a theme here, wonderful service, food and atmosphere. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating with counter service. Try it! You won't be disappointed!
