Hale Tap - Wyoming

Food was great as usual. Waitresses first night and she was great. Will be back!

We saw an article about Hale Tap last year in Our Iowa magazine. Since 2020 wasn't a good year, we saved the page and made the trip this year. Walking in, we just knew this place had good food. The parking lot was half full before 5 pm on Sunday. What a great place, they were very busy with dine-in and carry-out, many of the customers knew each other and the staff. My husband ordered one of his favorites, shrimp, and I had been craving steak for months. The salad bar was a flash-back, a big bowl of lettuce with lots of dressings and toppers, potato salad, three bean salad, pea salad, cottage cheese, and best of all, pickled beets! When our meals came out (very timely considering the crowd), my steak was PERFECT! Tender, beefy, beautiful grill marks, exactly medium. Hash browns were ordered with onions, grilled and caramelized, sweet to accent the potatoes. It was loud, borderline hectic, friendly, casual.....a perfect visit after the solitude of 2020. It's a 45 minute drive for us, but very much worth it. Next time, we will be bringing more people with us, and hopefully before too long.

Fantastic food, excellent service, and amazing value! The waitress was attentive and friendly. The restaurant was busy, but we received our delicious fide quickly. We'll definitely bring our friends next time!

This was my second time at this restaurant, and unfortunately, this visit was lacking. Our waitress was young and attentive, checking in on us frequently, which was a positive aspect. We ordered cheese balls, two kids' meals, and a tenderloin with all the toppings except tomatoes. After about a 40-minute wait, the food finally arrived, but we had inquired about the cheese balls several times beforehand and were repeatedly told they would be out soon. When the tenderloin arrived, it was served plain. I asked if I could get some lettuce, onions, pickles, or anything to go with it, and I was directed to the salad bar instead.

I dined at this restaurant for dinner tonight with a friend, and I highly recommend the prime rib and hash browns! The salad bar was fantastic, our meals were perfect, and the staff was incredibly friendly. We'll definitely return!
