Yesterday was to treat a friend on his birthday and we chose La Bodega because through illness he had missed out on our anniversary dinner there. We were sure he would enjoy and by heck he did!! In fact all three of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The lunch menu is restricted but a good set of options and I can recommend the mushroom starter, the chicken main (including potatas braves and veggies) ending with vanilla ice cream plus sauce! I'm told the paella was also excellent. It certainly looked as if plates had been licked clean after so 5 out of 5 for the food! Service was very very good, attentive but not over bearing. Would I return? Oh yes no question and prices are good value for money.
We had been passed this restaurant several times but on seeing the set lunch menu outside we decided to try it out today. We thoroughly enjoyed all 3 courses and it was difficult to choose each course. Very tasty food, the potatoes were very tasty and well cooked veg (that is not overcooked). The dessert choice was difficult and look forward to trying some of the others and bringing family along next time. We will certainly return. Nice to eat at a family run restaurant rather than one that is part of a chain.
All the staff working in the restaurant were really friendly and the service was really good. The restaurant was also full with tables being turned around which is good sign. There was options of a tapas menu or a table d'hote menu, most other people seemed to eat from the tdh menu but we went for the tapas. The tapas was the standard selection that British people tend to always order and the tapas was average. The worst was the abondigas, they weren't fresh and were either tinned or frozen brought in. The prawns also had no favour, it was if they were cooked prawns put into the sauce just before being served. Nearly all other reviews are positive so our opinion on the food is in the minority. I still suggest to give the restaurant a try and support local businesses at this current time. Maybe eat from the table d'hote menu which looked really good.
This is now my favourite restaurant. The food is superb. The choice is excellent. The service is excellent. The atmosphere is lovely. You are safe. Jenny the owner is delightful and friendly. Her husband is the Head Cook and what a great cook he is. You will love the range of house made deserts. They are all delightful. Reasonable prices considering the high quality and quantity. The selection of vegetables is very nice. Try the Cappiccino coffee. La Bodega will become your favourite too.
The service at this restaurant was terrible. I complained about the high price of a small piece of seabass and ended up in a confrontation with a rude manager. I will not be returning to this restaurant and do not recommend it.
