Przekaż informację zwrotnąFor a few years now, Grigio has been my family's goto casual restaurant. We enjoyed the food, the ambiente, and the garden setting in the summer. However, after a recent visit, I may not go back, mostly because of the owner's attitude. When we arrived...and were shown to our table in the smaller of the two dining rooms, one of the women next to us very close to us, welcomed me by commandeering me to Watch out for our dog! No question whether it was okay to be seated in such close proximity to a dog, especially as the dog was literally under MY chair! I said yes, that it bothered me and that I didn't think it was appropriate to bring dogs to a restaurant. The obnoxious woman, the dog's owner, yanked at the leash and pulled the poor dog toward her so that it spun around! She then proceeded to heap invective on dog haters supposedly me etc. I asked her to please be quiet. But I also grew pretty angry and told her to mind people who may be allergic to dogs and that to nonowners, dogs often smelled bad. That almost led to a coronary in the rather large woman, who was now shouting for the waiter. In came the owner, who himself keeps a dog in the restaurant, but one that sleeps in its dog bed by the door and doesn't bother anyone, least of all me. Without knowing what had transpired, the owner got quite testy and told me that if I didn't like dogs in restaurants, I would need to eat elsewhere. This is what I thought was inappropriate: jumping to conclusions, escalating the conflict, taking sides instead of smoothing things over. Not cool. The rabid dog owner was insisting that we leave, using the restaurant owner's words to mean that we were being kicked out. Far from the truth. The owner apparently regretted his rash reaction or regained his bearings as a businessman should. He directed us to a table farther removed from the group with the dog. I ignored the continued yelling from the large female dog owner and focused on my two dining companions. The rest of the meal was pleasant, even pointedly pleasant, between the restaurant owner and us. Still, I can't get over how aggressively he responded to my warranted complaint and the stranger's hysterical reaction to my objection to sharing a small space with her mangylooking dog. For the record: I like dogs! Turns out that bringing dogs to a restaurant is basically allowed in Germany, as long as the restaurateur allows it. Now to the food: The salads are very good, so are most of the pizza and pasta dishes. However, my special, prawns with salad greens, were entirely too salty. The tiramisu was okay. It lacked the strong flavor of espresso and marsala. Instead, it just tasted very sweet. The young waiter was charming and helpful. For the best experience, make reservations for the large dining room. It's a lot nicer than the smaller one. In the summer, it's awesome to sit under the trees outside in a garden setting. I may take up the owner on his advice: Lots of decent restaurants beckon in Wuppertal, owned by people who are pleasant and don't force guests to dine on top of strangers' dogs
We like this place very much. Nice atmosphere and good food. Daily menu and always good pasta recipes
Visited Grigio for a dinner after a business meeting. They orenes at and we were thereright after. Gods menu with antipasti and main course of vegetarian, fish and mest main dishes. I did not try their desserts. I had a focaccia wit truffle Olof...for starters and a Rumpsteak with goats cheese and vegetables for main. The house red was from Pugglio. Excellent meal at a very reasonable cost
Taken here by friends who knew the restaurant .... and we were not disappointed as the food was excellent, from a sharing platter to start, through to the mango panacota. This is definitely Italian themed and there were lots of covers at the same time...but standards remained high throughout. The staff were very attentive and friendly and I would certainly go back here if back in the Wuppertal area
This used to be a good German style restaurant, Landhaus Beek. Good food and good atmosphere. But these new people made it a Italien restaurant and they do a very good job: nice atmosphere, combination of old German style with Italian flair nice,...friendly, timely service. good tasteful Vitello Tonato BUT THE HIGHLIGHT: Pizza Pisa. One of the best I had, great taste, spicy but prefect so not burning. and wine recommendation fitted perfectly Great place to go and I will definitely go more time here being in Wuppertal
