The portions were very generous for both dishes. Each meal comes with 2 to 3 sides. We tried the baked potatoes and green beans, both of which were seasoned perfectly. For dessert, I had the heavenly cake and my wife had the strawberry shortcake, which came with a generous scoop of ice cream on the side.
This restaurant is decent and serves decent food. I went with a small group from church. The drive from Bloomington is very pretty, but I'm not sure if I want to make it in winter. They have a smoking area, and I caught a few whiffs during the meal, even though we sat at the far end of the non-smoking area. It wasn't terrible, but I'd rather not smell cigarette smoke while eating. I don't remember exactly what I had, maybe Salisbury steak, fried chicken, or chicken fingers. I do remember that the sides were delicious. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meal, but no one was amazed. Those who ordered the fried catfish enjoyed their meal the most, and I remember that the catfish looked good. The service was excellent. Our waitress was very friendly and got all our drink orders right. We were there past closing time (I think it was 8 p.m.), but no one seemed bothered or rushed us out the door. Eating on the front porch is surprisingly nice considering Worthington is in the middle of nowhere. It’s worth a try.
