Thanh Van - Woodstock

We were there for lunch not many in the restaurant due to it being a long weekend But the meal was taste all of us agreed. The restaurant has a good reputation others have have told us.

I recently dined at a restaurant that offered a small all-you-can-eat buffet as well as menu items. It was very busy with non-stop takeout orders. I paid $15.95 for the buffet and the food was fantastic. Unfortunately, I left my cardigan sweater there and didn't realize it until after the restaurant had closed on Sunday night. They were also closed the following day. Thankfully, while on our way to Ontario, our hotel, the Best Western Plus in Woodstock, was able to contact the restaurant on Tuesday morning. To my delight, my sweater was still there. The staff member I spoke with offered to drop off the sweater at the hotel on her way home from work, but to my surprise, the hotel also arranged for one of their staff members to pick it up and mail it back to me. I am so grateful to the Thanh Van staff for their honesty and kindness. This experience has restored my faith in humanity, as I never expected to see my sweater again.

After being away for a few years, it was good to return to Thanh Van. Michael is still serving up some great Chinese/Asian food. The best thing is that he uses fresh vegetables that still have some crunch in them when you get your meal. The portions are great and there's no way you could leave there hungry. The two waitresses have both been there for many years (hello Glenda! and provide great service.

We stopped in for supper, and were very pleasantly impressed with this friendly and down to earth restaurant. Our server was excellent, very helpful and knowledgeable and a great ambassador for the place. We ordered several dishes and they came quickly and piping hot. We enjoyed the chicken wings and the Cantonese Chow Mein the most. Portions were reasonable and well presented. There is also a selection of local beers. All in all, this is a dandy place for a good meal and friendly service. Recommended.

The food at Thanh Van restaurant is excellent. The portion size is really great. I usually order take out but I have also had meals inside. The waitress who works there is wonderful and seems to always have a smile to give.
