Izumi Asian Bistro - Woodstock

Honestly, the food at this restaurant is overpriced. I ordered the tofu and pepper dish and vegetable soup, which both lacked flavor and needed extra seasoning to taste good. The paprika tasted off as well. The only saving grace was the noodle soup, which was decent. However, considering the high prices, I don't think the meal was worth the $30 I spent. I would give this restaurant a 2 out of 4 rating.

Izumi is a great restaurant with fantastic options for vegan and vegetarian diners. Carmen, who may be the manager or owner, is wonderful and goes above and beyond to ensure her guests are satisfied. The first time I visited, I inquired about vegan/vegetarian choices and Carmen was delighted to share their newly created vegetarian menu. I sampled a few dishes, modified to be vegan by removing certain sauces, and they were all delicious. I especially recommend the dish wrapped in cucumber, although I can't remember the name. When I left, Carmen was so enthusiastic about the presentation that she asked to snap some photos before I departed. It's clear that she takes pride in her work and is dedicated to ensuring vegan and vegetarian diners have a great experience. She checked in on us multiple times to make sure everything was to our liking. Despite some initial confusion from our waiter, Carmen stepped in to assist us with the vegetarian menu, as it was still a work in progress at the time of my visit. We will definitely be returning to Izumi in the future!
