If I were to visit again, I’d likely choose the salmon over the shrimp, though that simply reflects my personal preference. Overall, this restaurant offers rich French cuisine in a wonderful setting—perfect for special occasions or just a lovely indulgence.
Have been here numerous times over many years and it keeps getting better. There is a reason this is the best restaurant in the Valley. Peggy, Chris and the staff always take care of their guests. With only 10 tables, it is like being invited over to a friend's home. But, the food is the star attraction from the moment you settle into your table all the way through dessert.
The menu is limited to the very best of options. Escalopes of veal is my go-to, with mashed potatoes that put my mother's to shame. The Caesar dressing is made to order on a side-table in a wooden bowl. The owner pestles (yes, it's a verb, too) the anchovies and whisks the yolk to perfection. Classic french food and service. This is a little gem.
Although it’s not on the menu, there’s a stunning cut of pork that's incredibly thick and cooked to perfection. The accompanying sauce was made with wild mushrooms that were absolutely heavenly. My wife ordered this, and I couldn't help but keep stealing bites from her plate. I opted for the Australian lobster tail, which was seasoned exquisitely—definitely a step up from the usual butter-and-lobster combo with a bit of garnish. Be sure to try our two favorite appetizers: the calamari greco and the escargot!
To start, we were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary small portion of gravlax accompanied by dill cream and warm, fresh bread—absolutely delicious! We then shared the burrata and heirloom tomato appetizer, which was fantastic. For the main course, my wife opted for abalone—a rare find these days—for $55, and it was truly worth every penny. I chose a generous portion of Chilean sea bass, both dishes served over a bed of rice with tasty sauces and sautéed green beans. To top off our meal, we shared a creamy crème brûlée for dessert. Brandywine is a charming little restaurant with about 30 seats, offering attentive service without being intrusive. While not the cheapest option, the generous portions and incredible flavors make it well worth the price. It's the perfect spot for a special occasion, and we can't wait to return!
