This restaurant was a mix of Mexican/American food with mostly Hispanic staff. The bartender had no idea what she was doing, was rude and displayed blatant discrimination upon leaving from her shift. My meal hadn’t even been served when I was approached by the bartender asking if I minded cashing out with her because she was finished with her shift, which I had no problem with. When she returned with the bill she informed me that gratuity was added to my check. I understand parties of 6 or more, but bar patrons?!? I hesitantly let it slide until after she returned with my card and then told me there is also a $2.50 service fee for using my debit card. This was frustrating as now I am being charged 8 dollars in fees and the bartender can determine good or bad service AND what I tip. I work in the industry and I overtip, so I asked why I was charged gratuity and if everyone else at the bar was charged gratuity as well. She avoided answering the question rather argued with me saying they have the right to add gratuity and that when I entered the bar initially, she was intimidated by me. Instead of doing her job which is serving customers, she chose to make assumptions and display blatant discrimination. The owner was no better as he sat there at the bar making excuses for his staff’s unacceptable behavior. At that point I chose to leave. Disgusting and disappointing. And the food was gross.
It's ok. It's definitely geared towards Latino(a) persons, but doesn't discriminate. Food is pretty decent but I feel it's over priced. Went with my bf and we each got food...a quesadilla and a burger if I remember, plus an app of boneless wings, and then he got a beer and I got a mixed drink and it was about $100 bucks with tip included. We wanted to order another drink each but seeing the bill we opted out. They do karaoke and live music at times, also have tons of TVs and an super large screen for sports or etc. They also do themed nights or events and have the connected lq store which is a huge plus in my book because you can grab drinks to go as you leave without the crazy bar prices. However they are a little more pricey than most lq stores in the area. Overall, it's either for you or not but id say try it if u are in the area. Also great for a lq store that's open if you happen to miss the others that close at 9pm, you can hit this one usually til 2am (except for on sundays and certain other exceptions though).
Pregnant woman tending the bar on a Saturday afternoon was jealous that we could afford high end drinks so she ignored us for 35 minutes. Finally, we found another waitress/bartender and she was kind and sweet helped to get us served quickly. I felt so bad for the pregnant woman that I left her a $20 tip all in cash so she can buy diapers/formula.
Initially the service was terrible... Language barrier with the waiter's/bar maids. The drinks were Amazing as well as the Garlic Parmesan wings. The music can be a tab lower with some variety, you want to enjoy your drinks and be able to talk to the person next to you without screaming over the music.
I went in for lunch, thirsty for a drink and hungry for some grub. I took a seat at the bar, but instead of being served I was tackled by staff and pinned to the floor (until police arrived). They didn't want me there, apparently. Police said I could press charges, but I was traveling through town with no intention to stay. Maybe the beer is cold.
