Woodcroft Tavern

We booked for a party of 18 people and when we arrived they sat us in the outdoor/indoor are which is really like a covered verandah. They had three heaters plugged in but it didn't even come close to warming the room. Our guests went to their cars to get rugs!! to put over them. I spoke to the very lovely restaurant manager and he apologised profusely stating that the main dining room is only open on a Fri and Sat night and for functions. So we all sat there shivering watching others on the inside warm up by the fire!! Never again! What this policy says to me is that we really want your money but you'll have to be content with sitting outside. It also infuriates me that this was not communicated to us when we booked. This is a real shame because I come from a large family and we are always looking for somewhere to have our birthdays and we all live locally. We were all excited about going to the Woodcroft because of the new renovation etc. Unfortunately for the Woodcroft Hotel, they have lost our clientele and everybody else at the table who are big pub diners! Now on the hunt for a new venue.

Ordered 2 steaks, a beer and softdrink with my dad tonight.. Over $80!! I asked for medium rare and seriously they were still alive. Couldn't even eat half of it. What a waste and disappointment. Not the first time Ive had a bad meal down there. Tell the chef to lift his game or get a new one...

Food was expensive and not that good my salt and pepper squid was soggy and I was appalled with the customer service. When I had been served and was waiting for my drink the barman ignored me while talking to his co- worker.

We have eaten here a few times- initially it was really great food in healthy sized serves.. More recently however the serving sizes have shrunk and while the food is still ok... It's just standard pub quality. It's now a trendy local after the renovations and its got such a great atmosphere - we just wish the quality of food would go back to 'wow'.
