I've been to the Kensington market location before so I somewhat knew what to expect. However, this location is much newer, larger, and easier to park at so that was a bonus for me. I had a great experience making reservations, I used their online form and they responded by email within minutes. We had the Pizza Fritta to start (fried pizza dough with tomato sauce and cheese, delicious) and a Mercanti Salad (balances out the pizza with the citrus and vinegar). We each had a pizza for our main course. I had the Scarpariello and my family had the Patate e Pancetta, the Vegetariana, and the Pollo. We all loved our food and had lots left over for the next day. For desert we had a couple of gelato flavours and the Panna Cotta. Would definitely recommend trying both. It was one of my family member's birthday that night so they also brought out Tiramisu on a board with Happy Birthday written on it. It was so cute and we really appreciated it! The service was really friendly too, chatting with us since it wasn't too busy and helping us with changing a couple of items due to dietary preferences. Value-wise it's pretty good as well. Especially if you stick with pizza or pasta for the main courses. However, I'm looking forward to trying some of the Secondi as well. They look delicious and pretty good value. Overall, we had a great experience and I'm looking forward to trying more items on their menu! Practical tips: -Getting to the restaurant is pretty easy by car, you can get off Highway 400 at Langstaff and head West. The restaurant is in the plaza on the Northeast corner of Weston Rd and Langstaff Rd. There is lots of free parking in the plaza in front of the restaurant. -You can make reservations on their website. From my experience they respond quickly. -If you're finding the back rooms too loud they may be able to lower some of the curtains to block the sound. Ask them to find out.
We 've been here before, but yesterday it was more of a miss than a hit. The chicken cutlet was bland, no taste. They suggested we could add salt. There was no salt on the table. Their coffee machine was broken, so only able to have espresso. You would think they would try and compensate but their attitude was, 'oh well '.
I attended a friend's birthday party at this restaurant and had a great time. We started off with some delicious mozzarella bites, which we all enjoyed but finished too quickly. My entrée was a pizza topped with potato and bacon, which was also very tasty and met my expectations. The prices were fair, but I felt that the service could have been improved. It took a bit too long for them to clear our table and remove the dirty plates.
The restaurant does not offer good value for the price. I don't think I would come back based on that alone. Perhaps the experience would be better if dining in. However, I must say that the gelato stand connected to the restaurant is fantastic.
I had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant. Our server Gabriella was very attentive and the food was delicious and fresh. We celebrated a family member's 65th birthday with a party of 8 people, enjoying appetizers like Fried Calamari, Shrimp, and Potato Croquettes, followed by main courses such as Lasagna, Veal Scaloppine in Marsala Wine or Mushroom Sauce, Ravioli with Spinach Ricotta in Tomato Sauce, Gnocchi with Four Cheeses, and a Prosciutto Panino with Caesar Salad. I highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion and look forward to visiting again. Thank you, Gabriella!
