Truly a wonderful night for our anniversary, thanks to the Mongiovi staff for the great service, we will be back!!!!!
My husband and I ate dinner here on a Saturday night. First of all, it was freezing in the restaurant-the thermostat was set to 19 degrees! Secondly, there were only about 12 people dining on a Saturday night at 8pm (that alone tells you something about the restaurant). The appetizers were so-so...the empanadas were good but the fried calamari were the frozen, prebreaded boxed kind! my main was their specialty paella...simply gross! Uncle Bens style rice, watery, with chewy bits of meat. My husband got a daily special of veal chop parmigiana which they served to him raw! And the sangria was nothing to brag about either...tasted like spiked koolaid. I would not recommend the food here at all. Not sure who wrote the previous 3 perfect reviews!
Very good food. Atmosphere was delightful. Staff very friendly and happy. Service was great. Would definitely go back.
Had a great evening with friends at By Mongiovi . Decor is beautiful. Our waiter Rocco is a delight! Very knowledgeable about every item on the menu, great personality, service was amazing. The food is delicious, a flare of italian, spanish french cuisine. Everything is home made. Not your typical menu. We danced the night away. The live band is fantastic caters to the crowd. They sing in english, italian spanish. Italian songs from the 60 's 70 's, Bob Marley, Michael Jackson.... I could go on forever. A very talented band. Thank you for a wonderful evening. We 'll be back soon! Rose
We came as a group of 12 for dinner on a Friday night. The whole restaurant was empty for most of the night and it was unfortunate as a few more tables filled and the atmosphere would be less industrial (as this was in an industrial space) and more like a restaurant. The food was tasty. I had the Argentinian beef which was the specialty of the house. It was huge and the taste was delicious, although a bit tough. I loved the Chimmichurri sauce The waiter was happy to give me a simple salad to start (not on the menu.) My friends enjoyed their food very much. The waiter was out of this world. Anything we wanted, he would get us in a blink of an eye. He really wanted us to have a great time and it was great. He worked so hard for our large party and he was so friendly and pleasant. Waiters around Toronto need to take some training from him! The desserts seemed really good as well. All in all, a great time was had.
