This family-style restaurant stands out from the rest. From the warm welcome by the hostess (even without a Saturday night reservation), to the cozy atmosphere, elegant linen tablecloths, and a perfectly crafted White Russian (which is a rare find), everything was exceptional. The extensive menu offered an array of delightful options, complemented by attentive and impressive waitstaff. My Italian waitress recommended the evening special: expertly cooked veal served with spinach and an incredible Gorgonzola Cognac sauce. It was a truly wonderful birthday dinner! It's a shame we didn’t have time for dessert!

Amazing! The friendly and attentive service sets the stage for a delightful culinary journey to Italy. The first thing you'll enjoy is the warm, freshly baked bread. The wine list is extensive and remarkably affordable. I opted for a classic, Zuppa de Pesce. If they could get the dish just right, we could be onto something special—and they absolutely delivered. The presentation was beautiful, and the ingredients were perfectly cooked. The dish featured four different types of shellfish, including mussels, scallops, and shrimp, complemented by delicate rings of calamari, all served over linguine. And the sauce? Simply wonderful. Go ahead and treat yourself!

This restaurant is incredible! This is our third visit, and we always enjoy dining on the terrace. Elena, our server, is incredibly friendly and gracious. Everything we tried was amazing: we shared a Caesar salad, and the Capesante Mare Mio (pan-seared scallops over a primavera risotto with lobster sauce) was the most delicious dish we've ever had. We both ordered it and even took some home for lunch a few days later. It was beyond delicious!

This resturant is a neighborhood to go, incredible service, fantastic drinks and the food is from the charts! This is our place! They have wonderful specialties, seafood is SPO good and their Italian fair and light and fresh! It's a hidden jewel, but once you go, you'll be back three times! One of the best restaurants in New Haven! Try it.

Our family went to Paolo Ristorante for the first time on Sunday night and were VERY impressed by the friendly caring atmosphere and delicious food. The service was spectacular and every dish was better than the next. The portions are very generous and prices very reasonable. This restaurant will, no doubt, become a very common destination for us even though we live 20 minutes away in Milford. I can't recommended it highly enough! Italian food at its best!
