In the last couple of years the team have been very successful on the pitch so that has added to the experience. The turnover of staff in WV1 bar is high but the excellent Rachel, Ash and Gangun constant ensure the standard of bar service is superb. Catering is a bit hit and miss and choice is limited. Waiting times can also vary. I think the club have a job of work to do to sort out this side of the bar. This is my only complaint. Overall I love going in WV1 though and I have made many new friends in there. My clients love it too and many want to return on a regular basis.
I brought this experience ford my husband ford Christmas. This is the second time we have been. I was a bit disappointed as we both found this restaurant much larger than the previous one was used. The food was very nice but we felt the personal touch was missing. We had seat this time behind the goal which I found frustrating. I do understand that fans stand up when it is near the goal but not for most of the game. The last time we attended we sat where the players come out and the managers stand we found this much better as well was the restaurant we felt was much more personal. We will be going up again as my husband has been a wolves fan since he was a kid even though he is a Essex boy but we will be using the other restaurant next time
Ate here on Sunday for a special family occasion that co incided with a home game. I'll say nothing more about the football, which is best forgotten !. In all honesty, we were underwhelmed. This is a new stand and the decor is nice but with strange touches, like the open ceiling displaying pipes, tubes and cables !. We were met at the entrance by a really grumpy doorman who simply told us we were early and couldn't come in until 2pm as it didn't open until then. Fair enough, the ticket did say that but what would have been the problem with allowing us inside the entrance hall on an extremely cold afternoon ?. When it did open, it was a little chaotic taking quite some time to get tickets checked, wristbands fixed and climb the stairs where we waited again to be shown to our table. The drinks order was taken some minutes later followed by the food order. The starters then arrived before the first of the drinks, the remainder arriving some minutes later (there were only 4 drinks ! . The menu is short, with a short selection of starters and only three mains lamb, sausage mash or a veggie option. The starters arrived but the waitress carrying the basket of bread rolls by this time had done several laps past us and missed stopping on each so we had to ask. Mains came swiftly and then we waited to,order desert. I think we were also then supposed to be offered coffee, which never came before we left to watch the match. At half time we came back to find coffee and two repeat deserts on the table but not the other two !. Other tables seemed to have a similar theme. Full time heralded more coffee plus really nice vegetable spring rolls which were arguably the best bit of the meal but needed a dip of some kind or even just soy sauce. We then had to ask for the bill by which time many of the tables had been cleared. As I said, underwhelmed really. Taking the ticket price away from the total price we paid, this was a very expensive but mediocre meal served badly. It was a special occasion for all of us in memory of a lifelong Wolves fan no longer with us. We enjoyed the day for that reason, but I am afraid the place let him down.
Came in september very enjoyable match day experience good friendly service and very modern surroundings would go again
For £10 a ticket we watched Anthony Joshua defeat Povetkin at wv1.. included in the price was food poisoning in the shape of burger and chips.. of the 10 friends I went with only a couple made it to work on Monday because of chronic sickness and diarrhoea.. I've reported it to my local health department.. I suspect many more were ill following their visit here.. never again.. unless I start buying toilet paper in bulk!!.. now back to the imodium
