The chips were warm and the guac was fresh! Large selection of beers, margaritas, and cocktails. For dinner we got enchiladas, paella, the burrito, and steak fajitas. All really delicious and hot! Price is fair and plenty of gluten-free options available.
Today, for our 15th anniversary, we decided to order Mexican takeout for our family. We had previously ordered from this restaurant during Christmas, and although I wasn't impressed, I believe in second chances. We ordered chicken fajitas for $22, steak fajitas for $29, pollo tacos for $19, and pulled pork tacos for $18. I requested a light amount of onions and peppers on the fajitas as there were too many last time. However, there were still an excessive amount of onions and peppers, with only a few pieces of meat. Adding cheese or sour cream cost an extra $6, and the portion of rice, beans, and guacamole was very small. The tacos were dry and small, more like sliders with little filling. After eating, our stomachs were upset. We spent $99 on four meals and were still hungry. I like supporting local businesses, but I have my limits. This experience was so disappointing that I felt compelled to leave my first review, in hopes of warning others. Happy anniversary to us, I suppose.
After waiting in the ER for my husband to be transferred to Catholic Medical Center, I was hungry and decided to stop at a nearby restaurant. I noticed they had a chicken burrito on the menu and placed my order. After a 5-minute wait, I received my food and was disappointed in the taste, quality, and size of the burrito, especially considering the $19.53 price tag which included tax. The burrito had wilted, brown lettuce which I had to remove, very little rice, and no beans. The excessive amount of refried beans and sour cream overpowered the taste and there was hardly any chicken to be found. I doubt I will return to this restaurant, as I have had much better burritos elsewhere.
The restaurant offers pleasant outdoor seating and the service was friendly and accommodating. However, the food was mediocre. The veggie quesadillas were bland and undercooked, with the tortilla lacking any browning and seemed to be lacking oil. The dish was accompanied by a small amount of guacamole and sour cream, which helped enhance the flavor slightly, but I could easily make a tastier version at home. The shrimp tacos, on the other hand, were decent.
We always enjoy El Centenario in Wolfeboro. We go over by boat and walk to the restaurant. The owners are from Puebla, MX and their food is authentic Mexican. Mom Beatrice, daughter Racquel, and son Izzy (chef) are wonderful. The margaritas are terrific, especially the jalapeño version. The mole is amazing. We have tried many of their entrees and they are all delicious. Highly recommend.
