Only downside is that they don’t serve lunchtime tucker so they lose out, esp. to the grey vote! Their loss is to the gain of the Greyhound (opp. ..no Rebellion there but the pub and the grub are both fab.
We have visited this restaurant for drinks several times, but after a late night at work, we decided to stop by for a quick meal. This was our first time trying their new pizza menu, and it definitely adds to the dining options in Wargrave. The prices are fair, and the pizzas on the menu offer a good variety of toppings (you can also create your own). The two pizzas we tried were decent, though not exceptional, and cost £11 each. It's nice to have a more casual dining option nearby when we're not in the mood for a fancy restaurant.
This unique little pub is adorned with a ceiling covered in steins and jugs, creating a quirky atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and there is even a lively dog on the premises.
This pub is a great spot for locals, as they receive prompt service even if they are standing at the bar. However, the price of £3.40 for two small Cokes is a bit steep. The atmosphere was grubby and smelly, and overall unwelcoming. The only interesting feature was the old Police car in the car park.
We enjoyed a glass of wine and noted that shiraz was not available, however the merlot was fine. The bar person and locals were friendly and down to earth.
