The Station Pub - Woking

Lovely atmosphere, great quiz, nice food and friendly staff. Only slight problem I have encountered is one of the staff members being grumpy on multiple occasions. I am writing this trying not to be harsh, however she is often difficult to deal with and provides unpleasant customer service, seemingly taking every request as if it is personally challenging. She acts as if she does not want to be at work, which I understand, but I have not seen it expressed to this extent before. She might wear a Christmas jumper, but next time I would recommend a Christmas bumper jab of happiness in the arm

I went to the Station pub on 4.12.22 for Sunday lunch with my family. I ordered the chicken roast. Despite there being many empty tables, we had to wait 45 minutes for our food. When my meal arrived, it looked like a small portion compared to the others. I asked if there were more vegetables coming and was told they were under the chicken, which was about the size of a chicken thigh. The meal consisted of 2 small potatoes, 2 carrots, and a cabbage, all lukewarm. My daughter's roast beef was also cold. We asked for some gravy to try to warm up the food, but the small jug of lukewarm gravy did not help. When I mentioned to the waiter that the food was cold, they microwaved it for us. After finishing our meal, I expressed my disappointment to the waiter, but he just collected our plates and left. My daughter and her husband ordered dessert, which took another 30 minutes to arrive. When my father-in-law, a regular customer, informed another staff member that one of us was unhappy with the meal, we were just told that they have a new chef and nothing further was done. The lack of customer service was the most disappointing part of the experience. The staff seemed indifferent and unconcerned. Additionally, the ladies' room was very cold with no hot water to wash hands. This was the worst Sunday lunch experience I have had in terms of customer service. Fortunately, I am not a local and will not be returning to this pub.

We were welcomed by a friendly woman and enjoyed some good beer at this spacious and comfortable pub restaurant. The place could use a renovation, but that may take away from its charm. The facilities were good and the lasagna was excellent, while the curry was very tasty. The menu had a good variety, though it wasn't very exciting. Overall, we found it to be a good value.

We go here regularly. Food is decent, staff are friendly, and it's big enough to always find a table.

Terrible experience. The staff were rude and uninterested, leaving us waiting for a long time at the bar on a quiet evening. This is honestly one of the worst pubs I have ever been to. West Byfleet itself is not a pleasant place either. They both complement each other in their awfulness. I would strongly advise against visiting this establishment.
