The Battesford Court is a large historic hotel that has been turned into an excellent Wetherspoons. It's nice and cozy with exposed beams. There is an outside seating area at the back of the pub. There was a good selection of cask conditioned real ales, and a good choice of cider all in good condition when we called. The service was excellent and the food arrived quickly even though the pub was busy when we called.
Friends of mine have been going there every Tuesday night for years. I join them when I visit but never again. The meal was horrendous. A Classic Steak was pure fat and grizzle. Service very slow. Yuk! Never again. I feel sick!
Delicious, good value food. Comfortable seating and plenty of room. Kind service. Love the fact there's no music!! Will definitely be back.
Had a lunchtime work meeting and it was perfect for that; a quiet, pleasant atmosphere. For food i had a Halloumi salad which isnt usually my lunch thing but it was really nice, if a tiny bit small. Which left room for dessert and the apple crumble was spot on with ice cream. Service was excellent, friendly, quick and caring. Recommended.
