This is definitely not somewhere to visit if you don't like to or can't climb a lot of stairs. The get down and back up you'll need to traverse around 325 stairs in both ways (about 650 in total), it makes for a very good cardio and leg workout. However I do feel if you can handle all the stairs it is well worth it. Like any of the caves have a light jacket with you even in summer as the temperature inside the cave is much cooler the outside. You be joining a guided tour, our guide was great. Friendly and knowledgeable I learn a lot about this cave and cave structure in general.
Absolutely loved this tour/experience. It is so beautiful and worth the trip down the stairs and back up. I admit that I was happy my 3yr old was happy walking back up.
There's a lovely walk leading from Conto's campground. The shop offers a wide variety of items, including many products that are 100% made in Australia, rather than the typical souvenirs found in other places. Unfortunately, I couldn't join a tour since they only run every hour and a half, but the exhibition is quite fascinating, and the platform provides a great viewpoint of the cave.
Visiting the caves will definitely give your legs a workout! The guided tour offers some amazing photo opportunities, all thanks to the knowledgeable guides. If you find yourself in the area, this attraction is absolutely worth your time and offers great value for your money. Plus, if you're planning to visit more than one of the 'big four' caves, you'll receive a discounted entry fee.
