Bistro Alte Kaserne - Winterthur

Wrong people for the job working here. Literally ignored. It seems loading the dishwasher was more important than customers waiting to be served. Suggest you go around the corner to multiple friendly bars and bistros in the old town.

The Bistro is the small restaurant of the culture house Alte Kaserne : I like to eat there when the sun is scarce: it is one of the very rare places of the medevial narrow old city with sun in the room... And the food is simple but tasty and with a never ending variey!

Fine seasonal vegetarian cuisine, often also pasta. Fine coffee, great service! The cultural offering is as diverse as Winterthur everything fits perfectly. From the dance studio to the kindergarten to the congress hall, you can find everything there impressive. 30 years of quality, the know how is immense.

Very nice culture center there are a lot of cultural events taking place there, from concerts to readings, I even attended the Irish Christmas concert, it was great to eat in the bistro, which wasn't as good because I ordered a hamburger, you could barely eat it, but it was very soft on the inside and outside Not quite black yet I have to honestly say I haven't had such a bad burger in a long time, but I still want to defend the chef. He probably had it pressed against him, maybe he was a bit overwhelmed. You don't know and I hope it's not the norm. Otherwise everything is fine .
