Sweet Potatoes - Winston-Salem

I opted for the fried chicken, which is cooked in fatback. This was possibly the most authentic Southern-style fried chicken I've ever had in a restaurant. It was seasoned just right—not overly salty—and the crust was light and perfectly fried. Too often, restaurants overdo it with heavy breading or freeze their chicken, making it too tough. The collard greens were excellent as well, with the perfect texture and none of the muddy taste found in some places. My wife ordered the vegetable burger, which she enjoyed, and she also had sweet potatoes that I couldn't resist trying. They were cut into large pieces, fried just right, and were hot and crispy, boasting a vibrant orange color. Unlike sweet potatoes at other restaurants, these were not greasy or mushy. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience!

James, Edwin, and the rest of the staff provided outstanding service. We felt well taken care of throughout our visit. We enjoyed it so much that we decided to return for brunch the following day.

I discovered this restaurant on Facebook and was eager to give it a try, and today marked our very first visit—definitely not the last! It was easy to find, and we were seated right away. I even had the opportunity to sing there with my children. The food arrived in a timely manner, and we thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered. I highly recommend it to everyone. The restaurant's atmosphere was enchanting, with beautiful decor. The staff we interacted with were incredibly friendly and attentive. We even ordered more food after finishing our meals! Thank you for such a wonderful experience; it was a great way to kick off our new year!

Shrimps and geese are a must!!! Unfortunately, they do not take reservations about the phone. Our waiting time was approx. 45 minutes, but they are in a great area where we walk around until they wrote us when our table was ready. Overall the food is excellent!! 5 stars!!!

Definitely one of the top local restaurants in WS. Sweet potato fries are so crispy and BBQ chicken is tender and well-marinated. Staff are friendly.
