Wakoya Sushi - Winnipeg

I love their food its the best sushi place for vegetarian like me. Wait I'm a dog so may be my moms like it I guess.

I really don't like to complain about restaurants. I don't. And I rarely do. But the experience here was truly awful. Ordered on the website app for pickup. Showed up. The place was in disarray: one table served and otherwise empty, and Skip and other delivery services waiting three deep. Was told my order would take an addition 25 minutes. I complained about this. Lots of apologies, but I was not going to let that go. While the owner helped roll my order (which was a large one , I watched, with disgust, the front counter staff completely over their heads. They had no idea how to put together orders, and the counters were gross. Food scraps laying about, trays piled high with used orders, food being touched without washing hands in advance and no gloves -it was unhygienic and really gross. Finally, when they put it all in two bags, I had to go through it with them TWICE to make sure the order was complete. They threw in an order of Edamame (microwaved in front of me. The food was ok. But I will NEVER go back there. You safety and cleanliness of the place was just not up to code.

We have been looking for PROPER sushi since Meiiji closed down. Tried many. Couple came close but dropper the ball all over the court. Who opens at 11am and closes at 7pm. Wont deliver and cant dine in. Anyway Wakoya blows everyone outta the park. Everything was fresh melt in your mouth. Tightly rolled with zero falling apart. Realistically sized not make for a hulk sized mouth. Presentation looking stunning!!! Absolutely amazing!!!Thank thank you!!!!!

So delicious and the price is pretty fair for the quality and quantity. They have a decent selection for vegetarian options and I was very pleased!

This sushi restaurant consistently serves delicious sushi. I always order the party pack, which is a great deal. The service is fast and efficient, and the decor is relaxing and charming. The prices are reasonable for the quality of food you receive.
