I was intrigued by the idea of a restaurant in Venice opening a location in Winnipeg, so much that I ignored previous reviews of this restaurant. Saying this dinner was disappointing doesn't really do it justice. I have never experienced so many people walk out of the restaurant before getting their food. Turns out, they were the lucky ones, because we actually got our food. The restaurant was so understaffed, and I couldn't feel bad enough for the one waitress serving tables including a table of She deserves credit for holding it together for what transpired. There seemed to be one chef who was completely out of his depth. Slow service was the least of the problems. It seemed every other entrée coming out of the kitchen was the wrong order or undercooked. For the table of the chef had to come out after hours to clarify what they ordered. The entire table of got up and left. Other tables were sending food back, and ultimately walking out without eating. One person of our group of ordered the spaghetti including myself. She got spaghetti, and enjoyed it. I got one third spaghetti and twothirds uncooked linguine. This was unedible. My wife got salmon and mashed potatoes. The potatoes were not mashed, stone cold and sitting in a pool of water. The salmon was completely raw inside. The other person in our group ordered sliced tenderloin, and he got an unsliced steak, raw inside. This came hours after being seated. We were already late for our next activity so there was no time to refire anything. We left without barely eating. The few bites of food my wife ate before realizing it was raw fish left her sick all night. This felt like we were in an episode of Kitchen Nightmares. We walked out asking Did this just really happen? Overall a complete disaster. Reading other reviews over the past couple months shows this is a pattern and not a one off
Sorry to have to write this. I don't normally take the time to write feedback, however my un happiness with the experience lead me to this. The Servers were overwhelmed and likely the restaurant was under staffed. Food was very slow in coming. Food quality was poor
ListlessOur group of couples went before theatre January The service and staff were excellent but the food left much to be desired. Minestrone soup was almost all broth and with few vegetables, and had little taste. My Friturra Mista was a large portion but the rose sauce was missing and the came in a small cup, i suppose for dipping. It was bland. The side of pasta was a good portion and tasty, for me the best part of dinner. All in all, i couldn't recommend this restaurant, which is too bad because the staff were friendly and helpful, and the menu items were interesting
This restaurant has gone out of business. We went tonight before the theatre and there were locks on the door and an eviction notice
