This is one of those all-things-to-all-people kinds of places. Quiet, but tasteful and interesting new music you haven't heard. Of course a great assortment of beverages. A wonderful restored heritage building with a thoroughly modern new functionality...with all the popularity that this combination can create when done this well. And great staff. Individual, confident, competent and helpful. All you can ask for!I've met old friends there, new friends there and new and long-standing clients there. The age range of my guests varies from younger than me, maybe folks in their mid-20s, to people my age (late 60s), with a uniformly easy, comfortable experience for all of us, in every meeting and conversation. That's a telling sign of good design, good operations, good staff and good food-and-beverage offerings to the target clientele.Pretty great place, in a lovely location in the Exchange District.
I am a big fan of Forth: great coffee, lovely atmosphere, tasty food, friendly staff. Visited the rooftop patio for the first time last night. Very nice until the smokers lit up right beside us. Very unleasant in such a confined space, even outside. Unfortunately, I won't be back until Winnipeg gets with the rest of Canada and passes a bylaw to eliminate smoking on patios, or Forth changes their policy.
While in Winnipeg for a week, I got in to the habit of starting my day with a coffee at Forth. The place has a really nice, welcoming vibe and the coffee was great. I also had the avocado toast which was delicious! How could you go wrong with ripe avocado smushed on to fantastic, thick cut, sourdough toast with a poached egg on top. I also had the kale and eggs one morning and that, too, was really good. I highly recommend Forth.
First time to Winnipeg and went here upon recommendation from the concierge at our hotel. I always seek out local shops that roast their own beans. So glad we stopped here. Coffee was excellent and carefully crafted. Love the decor of the place, minimalist, mid-century modern feel. Plenty of seating. Nice selection of local artisan items for purchase. Walking distance from Fairmont. Will definitely be back.
