We waited over an hour and a half for our food, while other groups who arrived after us were served and left before us. Even when we finally got our food, the waitress was rude when we asked for water. It took 30-45 minutes to receive our bill, despite multiple requests. We were so frustrated that we had to step outside for a smoke to get the waitress's attention. We have all agreed that we will not be returning to this pub in the future.
They have a fantastic variety of craft beers available on tap. The sweet potato fries are exceptional, especially when paired with the Cajun mayo!
Was my go to place for years. Lately (like the last 5 years) food quality has taken a slide and service has taken a serious back seat. I like the idea of supporting the hometown spot but I 've been shopping elsewhere a lot lately. Most recent visit: service was slow we were sitting for 25 minutes before anyone even took our drink order... Then we watched the waitress pour our drinks and first use her fingers to scoop the head off the beer and then leave the beers on the other side of the bar until they were **** warm ; when we sent them back she got really rude and we were honestly scared she was going to spit in our food that still hadn 't been ordered. Then the food came my date ordered the pork chop special and got pulled pork (seriously) I ordered my usual pub club with cheese and sweet potato fries and was given a cold sandwich with no cheese, stale bread, very little chicken and under cooked sweet potato fries. This is the same thing I 've been ordering for 10+ years here and it has gone from trusty and spot on to in consistent to ya this is probably gonna be off At the end of the night we never got new drinks, the food was off, we were still billed for drinks that we didn 't get, and we stopped at Tim Hortons of all places for a sandwich on the way out.
My boyfriend, two friends, and I decided to dine at the Anchor Pub. I have never experienced such dreadful service at a restaurant before.
My wife and I came here with friends. It was pretty quiet (on a Saturday night, no less) so service was prompt and overall very good. My wife and I had the Stuffed Yorkie Bowl and we were both a bit underwhelmed. There weren't many mashed potatoes, the beef was tough, and there wasn't enough gravy. One friend's fries were cooked very well, whereas the other friend's fries were quite undercooked. Chicken fingers and fish & chips were good according to our friends. The Black Donnelly's Lager is a good beer and I recommend it. Overall, we'd still come back, but we'd try something different (I should have had the 12oz hamburger).
