Scottish Steak Club

Looked at outside menu on main street at it looked great,varied and good price. I picked out the pork tomahawk and my wife the ribye steak. We walked in the main resteraunt that was empty but it looked ipressive with modern furniture and decor. We were sat down and i ordered a glass of red wine and my wife a glass of white. We were then handed the menu that was completely different to the one outside. When questioned we were told this was the chefs menu of the day. We then had mediocre meal of fish and chips and a chicken burger. Bill £88 With red wine one glass £18 and white wine £15. Talked to one waiter who said we have had 1000s of complaints of menu outside not matching the one inside. Asked for money off the bill but it fell on deaf ears. Paid up and walked out. Total rip off. Is it really that difficult to match the menu oitside and inside? Walked by three days later and still not changed the menu mcdonald you are deciving your walk in customers.

We have visited the Scottish Steak Club many times and have always enjoyed our experience. However, during our recent visit, we were very disappointed. When we were handed two menus - one from the Scottish Steak Club and one from Caleys - we were confused as to why. I ordered a ribeye steak from the Scottish Steak Club menu, only to be informed by the waitress that it was not in use and was only given to us for the drinks listed on the back. I ended up ordering a sirloin steak from the Caleys menu instead. Unfortunately, the steak was overcooked and overall, we felt that the restaurant had declined in quality since our previous visits. We were very disappointed and it is unlikely that we will return after this recent experience, especially considering the high prices. We expected much more from the restaurant.

We went to a restaurant with high hopes of enjoying a delicious beef burger. Unfortunately, the burgers were cold, hard, and unappetizing. The service was extremely slow, and we were highly disappointed with our experience. We would not recommend this restaurant to anyone, as even the nearby McDonald's seemed more appealing.

Went on Sunday night. Started with a drink in the bar and looking over the menu before getting a table for dinner. We have eaten here a number of times so were expecting a good meal, The waitress told us when we were seated that 2 of the 4 steaks were unavailable along with a number of other dishes. So a Steak Club with only 4 steaks, of which 50% they had run out of. We decided to leave and went to pay for the drinks, We were told their new upgraded payment system was not working and could we pay at the hotel reception. Really not impressed.
