Ichiban Japanese Steak Seafood House

Service and hibachi were great. Atmosphere was ok. Was a little worried after reading some reviews but our experience was very good.

We have been going here for many years, but over the past few months, the service has been terrible. Some of the hostess and waitresses act as if they are miserable and don’t want to be there and have major attitudes. We have been rushed and told to leave after being seated 30’! We have spent thousands of dollars at this restaurant to be treated like we are not wanted there. Yesterday was the last day for me. when being seated, we were told two for hibachi OK? Not knowing or being explained that we could not purchase just one meal as there were two of us and both of us had to purchase hibachi rather than 1 meal and sushi. After taking our order for one meal and the chef in process of fixing our food, our dinner was ruined by the manager rudely and loud(with a table full of guest beside us) that we could not order 1 meal. Then the hostess comes behind me over my shoulder loudly telling me and the manager she explained we had to order two meals. Without further details of what resulted (negatively) you can see this isn’t an atmosphere you want to try and enjoy dinner at. There are other great options walking distance, I highly encourage you to go there. Ichiban is no longer enjoyable.

I ordered sushi only, so Hibachi experience is not in the scope of the food rating. With that being said, sushi is extremely basic and expensive for what you get, I would even say that's better just to grab sushi from Martins or Harry Teeter. Also they started mopping the floor like 30min before close time, I can still feel the Mr. Clean in my mouth. Honestly it was a very bad experience, I would not recommend this place at all. Just go to Chinatown is 100% better. On the bright side, they do have good service, people are welcoming and friendly. Kid's menu has multiple options (you have to ask for it), and apparently, it is good. Dietary restrictions: Vegan and vegetarian options available Kid-friendliness: Good options for kids.

It was our first time the other day being here since new management took over, they were all super friendly, clean environment, and the food has improved as well. We got hibachi sushi and both were amazing!! Definitely recommend

Went to dinner with my wife and brought my aunt and her husband. It was their first time at a Hibachi grill. Once another family of four sat with us around the grill, they asked for our order and for any food allergies. Upon being comically greeted by our chef, he went to work, flipping utensils and tapping them in a rhythmic and sometimes melodic sequence. Since he was cooking while talking, we enjoyed the culinary presentation, and shortly thereafter, the seriously delicious, made-to-order piping hot food cooked right in front of us. The dining area is clean, neat, and bathrooms had no questionable smells or issues. There is plenty of parking at this location. You'll enjoy your meal and a show! Highly recommended.
