Przekaż informację zwrotnąEverything about Cape Lodge says style. From the accommodation which is beyond comfortable, to the relaxed library, the bar, and then... the restaurant. Chef Michael Elfwing and his kitchen brigade deliver a first class meal every time. Even though my partner and I live a peaceful life in the Margaret River region, we always take a few days off a couple of times a year to visit Cape Lodge to be thoroughly pampered. All power to MD Drew Bernhardt and his team...
We went to one of the "chef's special" dinners on a Sunday evening. The theme on this occassion was French and we had been assured that my wife's vegetarian requirements would not be a problem. The 'vegetarian' was not the problem. The problem was the quality of the meal and I was not happy with my non-veg. either. There was nothing particularly wrong - it was just that both meals were totally underwhelming and not worth the money.
Tucked away at the end of a driveway that leads through the beautiful Cape Lodge Hotel estate, looking over a peaceful, moonlit lake sits a simply designed, elegant restaurant. On the menu, just three or four starters, three or four mains and a couple of desserts, yet each of them is worth a detour. The tasting menu of 5 courses gives a great insight into the chef's philosophy; fresh, locally sourced ingredients, interesting, sometimes eclectic pairings and restraint. Here is a chef at the height of his craft, who doesn't need to impress with faddish bells
This is our second trip to this restaurant, wonderful creative food, wonderful service, do yourself a favour and go.
We didn't stay here but had dinner with friends. Luxurious surroundings with very good service and food but, to be honest, not sure the food was any better than we enjoyed at other places at a lower price. Doubt we would eat there again.
