We weren 't at all sure what to expect as there were no recent reviews. When we first arrived, it was through a rather smokey bar. But we were alone in the dining room at 7 pm (hot meals available 6 to 10:30 pm). The server closed the sliding door after we entered the dining room which we appreciated. The menu (all in German) offered many local specialties of chicken, pork and beef, as well as some year round fish dishes. An additional page featured all the herring dishes that were in season. My wife had a beef tenderloin dish, with bacon wrapped beans and mixed vegetables, as well as fresh garden salad. I had the herring, hausfrau style, with cream dressing, fresh salad, and pan fried potatoes (bratkartoffeln). The portions were generous and good value, as well as delicious. My wife was particularly pleased with the quantities of vegetables and their presentation. It turned out that we were lucky in finding the restaurant open. After August 12 they will be closed for 2 weeks. Don 'the go to Zum Landhaus expecting much English service, but do go for the wonderful food.
If you want to drink a beer in the evening, they definitely go somewhere else.
