But my absolute favorite was the brisket. Oh, that brisket! The flavor was incredible, with pronounced smoky undertones, and it was incredibly moist—falling apart just like a perfect roast, but packed with even more flavor! As a Southerner who loves North Carolina BBQ (particularly the vinegar-based sauce from the western NC mountains), I was pleasantly surprised by Locale's sauce. It's tomato-based with hints of orange, and it has a delightful aftertaste that truly enhances the pulled pork! This was just our first visit, and I can't wait to come back and try the chicken and bratwurst next time. Oh, and did I mention the coleslaw?
The food was fantastic! I picked up lunch for the team, and the pulled pork was perfectly sauced while the chicken was delicious. The side dishes paired well with the main meal. I definitely plan to return to try more items from the menu. The ordering process flows smoothly, starting with selecting your meal, then sides, and finally reaching the register. It was well-organized. Even though the place was crowded, the wait was worth it, just like everyone else who was in line with me.
When asked about the best BBQ in Delaware, I used to say "my backyard." I might need to reconsider that. The brisket, which is notoriously difficult to get just right, was absolutely perfect—tender and moist. The sauce was fantastic as well. The cornbread was solid too. I highly recommend giving this place a try; it's definitely worth it!
The beef brisket sandwich with the 'hot' sauce was fantastic. The pulled pork sandwich is also a winner. I used to be let down by the mac and cheese, but it's been much better the last two times I've had it. I also tried their brisket breakfast sandwich one morning and enjoyed that as well. In my opinion, this place has been continually improving. Each visit, the food gets better.
The 15-minute drive back to work felt like torture; the delicious aroma was almost unbearable. OH.MY.GOD!!! I have never, EVER had brisket this tender and juicy before. It practically melted in my mouth! The peach BBQ sauce was incredible—I wish I had requested extra. The coleslaw topping my sandwich was crisp and tangy, making for a perfect complement. The roll was soft yet sturdy, holding up beautifully against the sauce and meat. My taste buds were in absolute bliss. And let’s not overlook the sides. The macaroni and cheese was rich and creamy, while the collard greens had a delightful tang thanks to a hint of vinegar. The pickles were fantastic, locally made, and I even have a jar at home. My stomach is full and utterly satisfied. The only thing that could have made this experience better would have been a slice of peach cobbler for dessert.
