Grotto Pizza - Wilmington

I had an outstanding experience with the takeout service. The staff member who assisted us truly deserves a raise! He offered to help carry our items to the car and was incredibly friendly throughout the process. It's been difficult to find good customer service since the pandemic, but his attitude will definitely make me return.

I always pick up a cheese pie on my way back to Philly. There’s just something about Grotto’s Pizza – the balance of cheese and sauce is absolutely perfect! It’s delicious!

This pizza stands out primarily because of its exceptional sauce, which is truly one-of-a-kind. The crust was fantastic as well. Overall, this pizza was a real treat, and I rated it an 8.5 out of 10 on the Dave Portnoy scale.

Update: Visited for a quick bite near downtown Wilmington. Grabbed a cheese steak to go. Fast friendly service. Good was ready very fast and was credibly tasty. _____________________ Yes, I know it originated in Wilkes Barre (been there) and is now a cult in DE beaches, but having sampled pizza all over the world, including the foundings in Italy, it's just not doing anything for me. I respect the tradition and those loyal, but (my opinion) there are better (and more economical) options.

Love this place but they need to get rid of the stale beer smell when you walk in but that doesn't stop me but would definitely make a difference if they get rid of it !
