Berret's Seafood And Taphouse Grill

The seafood is so fresh and flavorful!! Our dinner plates came to our table hot and with amazing presentation ! The service was attentive and hospitable and when we ordered dessert the cobbler was so warm and comforting with lots of cinnamon , fresh peaches and strawberries !! we also ordered coffee for the four of us. Our server took the time to make us a fresh pot of hot coffee after we let her know that the coffee was lukewarm at best and replaced all our cups . This was very much appreciated.

Drinks were enjoyed outside before the meal. Very nice area and beer/cocktails were good. Waiter, Chauncey was fine. Not very energetic or personable but did his job. Food was extremely disappointing. Started with a bowl of She Crab soup and it the worst She Crab soup I've ever had. Took 3 bites and had to put it at the edge of table. Waiter took it away without question. Steak was mediocre, the sauce was a brown ketchup and the potato side had very little flavor. Creme brûlée saved the entree/appetizer. Wouldn't recommend but maybe they had an off night?

Watson, our server, was excellent. My guest, who is Vegan, had special requirements. Watson —and the chef— went out of their way to make sure her dietary needs were met. Exceptional service to be sure. Well done team. Always a favorite restaurant of mine when I'm in Williamsburg.

Great menu, great service. I was silly in ordering a muffuletta sandwich in a seafood restaurant, the cold cuts had turned and had a horrible smell; surprised it left the kitchen! My husbands shrimp were great as was our calamari appetizer. We would return and stick with most frequently ordered items. Burgers looked terrific!

This was my first visit to Berret's. It was e wonderful. The food was delicious. I had shrimp and grits. It was memorable. The restaurant was charming and the service was excellent. I look forward to eating there again.
