The locally caught Walleye was cooked to perfection and quite substantial in size. I opted for the fried version to sample their seasoning, which was homemade and added a delightful touch without overwhelming the fish's natural flavor and texture. Their homemade coleslaw is an absolute must-try—it was chopped beautifully and bursting with flavor, slightly sweet but not excessively so. Just perfect! The ambiance is that of a cozy, unpretentious hole-in-the-wall, but trust me, you'll be glad you dropped by. The prices are very reasonable, with some even lower than I expected; I would've gladly paid more for the experience, so we left a generous tip.

The restaurant is friendly, clean, and incredibly fresh. It offers a far better and more affordable experience than Pickle Bill's. My husband and I really appreciate the excellent food, attentive service, and pleasant atmosphere. The crab legs are prepared to order, ensuring they are always served hot and fresh. The service is great, and you won't find yourself waiting endlessly for your food like you might at other larger chains.

This place has been around a long time. The food is always fresh, cooked perfectly and great service. Seafood in Ohio has a higher price tag then seafood in say South Carolina...but try getting steak there cheap. Great food. Try coleslaw Try banana pudding pie Mmmmmmm

However, on Friday, February 15, we ordered a large fried fish dinner with steak fries and coleslaw to take home, along with a side of onion rings. When we opened the food at home, we found there was no coleslaw included, and the large $21.00 order only came with one and a half pieces of fish. I believe a dine-in order typically includes two pieces. This is a minor oversight, but it was still frustrating. While such mistakes might be expected at fast food places, I don't think they should happen at Sussex, especially when you’re paying $29.00 for a takeout meal. We'll definitely return, but we won't be ordering takeout again.
