Arbuckle Mountain Fried Pies - Wichita

Experience is bad as eating. So two stars for me. They use clamps to seal the paper bag. Not only a clamp, but 3 or more. It really bothers me that they stack through chip bags that pierce the bag and if you are careful the clamps either scratch you or fall into your cake as you 're opening the bag. If the owner reads this, please stop using clamps when serving food. I can't go through the clamps. I have to bring my book remover or tear the floor of my bag to deal with it. Don't get me wrong I love when my food is hot, but if you don't give your cakes time to cool off, you can literally not eat it. Honestly for something that is small and hot (so hot that the crust breaks in flakes everywhere, because it's so dang crispy that it hard at the edges) it should be served in a small cardboard, such as McD's apple cake or even like hot pockets. Actually, I asked my cake not to be served hot because it was a sign that fruitcake served room temperature unless hot (last time my cake was hot and I didn't ask), and he tells me with attitude that I'm closing in 25min, so I'm serving everything hot. Okay? Certainly not customer-friendly. I thought Fried Pies was a fast food experience, but nothing about it is friendly to eat. From clamps to hot cake, which can not be held or immediately bitten. Once I waited to come home and after getting the clips out of my pocket, I could take a bite and the filling was just okay. For me, food is not worth the experience. These are the cakes I had: Potato Polish Sausage, Chicken Pot Pie, Sweet Potato Pie and Pizza. I have tried this several times and experienced the same things every time, so I finally wrote this review Fried Pies is just not my cup of tea.

While open and selling pies, they're as of this writing (9/2/18) only selling the fruit pies, and at more limited hours than eventually planned. I had the cherry. Perfectly decent cherry pie filling inside a fried crust that has no sweetness to it at all. It wasn't hot, clearly not cooked to order Looked a little overcooked in comparison to the website images. The building is drive-thru only, no indoor seating. Walk-up may be a future option based on the building layout.

My goodness! I have NO complaints! Service was friendly. Very clean and professional man at the drive thru. We?d never had this place before but had seen it for a while, we stopped and grabbed 5 apple and some whipped cream on the side all for under $20, and my goodness this is sooooo good I can?t express enough! We will definitely be coming here more often! I can?t wait to try the other menu items! Pies were very good in size (my photo is more than half gone lol) and flavor of the shell..perfect! 10/10!

I got the breakfast, sausage, egg and cheese pie and the pecan pie. It was definitely hot. It wasnt bad, the pecan pie is super rich and I couldn't finish it. Overall, it's very similar to carnival fried food but I mean what did I expect with fried in the name. I don't think I'd eat it on a regular basis.
