I am giving Johnny Carino's 5 stars without a doubt. They truly deserved it. We celebrated my 90-year-old mother-in-law's birthday party there and they were incredibly accommodating to our large group of nearly 30 people. They assigned a waiter to us who did an amazing job taking care of everyone from start to finish. The food received raving reviews, especially the spaghetti and meatballs which I personally enjoyed. I can't wait to go back to Johnny Carino's when I return to Texas. The atmosphere was fun and clean, and the manager Kristina was so kind when I spoke with her before the party. If you're looking for a great Italian dining experience, Johnny Carino's in Wichita Texas is the place to go.
I would give more stars if the manager wasn 't so rude. Our server was amazing and good was good. The manager Jimmy was watching over us and everyone like he was a car salesman. He was very snippy with how he spoke and seemed to just stand around and watch. His vibe ruined the atmosphere.
Everything else was good besides my steak cooked raw in the middle and the waiter refused to give me a discount or anything for free because of it.
So I'm starving right. I think to myself hey let's go get some Italian food today! I could've went the safe route and ate at Olive Garden but decided hey why not try Carinos? Firstly the table is very worn at the booth I was seated at. No biggie to me but if you're putting the vibe of fancy place to spend money I'd except every aspect to be token care of to such degree. The complimentary bread was alright. It was sort of warm and had some crunch but nothing special. Now the mozzarella sticks were good I'd recommend to get these because it was very tasty. The marina sauce it came with had a bit of a kick to it that I enjoyed very much. Now for a up charge more you can get the Cesar salad that comes with your entree and just don't do it. It's obvious that it was premade from who knows when because it was cold and soggy. The croutons were crunchy though and made some bites enjoyable. Now the entree was one big mess on one small plate. Visually unappealing at all... now the chicken was tough and I had to add so much salt and pepper just to even enjoy whatever edible bites I could get. The Alfredo pasta was a joke. I don't recommend either entree choice. Luckily I filled myself with bread and didn't walk out hungry because I couldn't even force myself to continue eating it... now the service was excellent and my waitress was very helpful though new she went out of her way to make sure I was taken care of. I would come back here if this was my very last option to eat to survive but I'd rather eat frozen pasta at the supermarket because it's cheaper and same quality!
