This location is good but I can imagine the proper location is the icing on the cake! The food here is very tasty! We ordered loads to share, probably too much, and there was no dish we disliked! We were served by Abbey who was very friendly and attentive! The crayfish special was very good! Apparently the chef is looking to put this on the permanent menu. We say yes to that! Overall, we very much enjoyed this restaurant! I would give five stars but the makeshift location probably lets it down. I will return, hopefully when it's back to normal and I'm sure it would get a great big 5!
Great setting seeing it is only temporary until permanent restaurant is repaired. Great food a bit expensive but well worth the visit.
We didn't expect much from the large restaurant based on a holiday Island.Dinner was really great. Service was prompt and professional. The meals were tasty, and as described in the menu. Wasn't too noisy even though the restaurant was crowded. We would definitely go back.
We had a great time at this restaurant, so much so that we went back, twice. The food and service were impeccable and there was something on the menu for everyone from our 3yo son to his grandparents. It's not cheap but we found that we each shared our dishes and there was plenty of food because of the endless rice-if you finish a bowl, they bring you another. Much of the place is in a permanent marquee type set up and there's a large grass area for kids to play (but be careful as there's also the sea!)
We have been here a week and have visited Coca Chu twice. The meals are flavoursome and really delicious. It's necessary to book as soon as you arrive on the island as it's very popular and we could only get two bookings over the week at 8 pm and 8:30 pm. The first night they had sold out of all entrees we wanted to try by 8pm. But we did love the 'melt in your mouth' lamb with Asian sauces. Heavenly. The duck was also excellent, so deliciously flavoursome and the curry with coral trout was superb but a very tiny serving. A mouthful each for 3 adults to share. On our second visit we ordered take away pork belly steamed buns at 5:30 pm Delicious. Then went for our meal at 8:30 pm. Ordered the lamb again as it is SO yummy. Tried the Massaman Curry vegetables. They were ok. Service was excellent by Kathy and Bobby. $192 - $210 for 3 adults each visit. That price included 1 beer and 2 glasses of wine per night. The only dish we really didn't like was the entree fish salad. The fish was invisible. It tasted like fish flavoured fried breadcrumbs. Not nice at all. Everything else was delicious. Definitely our best meals on the island so far.
