Mountain Laurel Resort - White Haven

This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. I booked it because it looked beautiful online and advertised many conveniences. However, the hallways smelled terrible and the first thing I saw coming out of the elevator was a dead tree covered in leaves and sticks on the floor. Trash bins were overflowing throughout the hotel, furniture and chairs were scattered around as if it was a frat house, and food was left out in public areas. It seemed like there had been a huge party the night before and no one bothered to clean up. There was a DJ in the bar and I could hear him from my room. There were bugs in my room and the restaurant was closed. I had hoped for a peaceful trip with my friends, but the atmosphere made us feel unsafe. My recommendation to the owners is to close the hotel, renovate it properly, and then reopen. I felt disgusted and unsafe during my stay.

I can't believe this restaurant is still in operation. The first room's ceiling was in terrible condition. The second room we moved to was far from comfortable. We had difficulties getting utensils and soap to wash the dishes. The walls were badly stained and dirty. When I tried to turn on the equipment, it broke. The overall cleanliness was lacking. The surroundings outside were not appealing, with streets in poor condition. It was not a pleasant experience.

We recently had a family gathering at Mountain Laurel Resort over the weekend. Overall, our experience was not perfect, but we would definitely go back for the amazing food alone! The chef is extremely talented and the service staff were attentive. They provided us with generous portions of delicious food. The BBQ chicken prepared by the chef was a standout dish that we highly recommend. If we could, we would give the chef and staff 6 stars. Our VIP 2-bedroom accommodation was comfortable and well-equipped. The staff were friendly and always ready to assist us. However, some members of our party faced issues with their rooms due to a storm causing satellite service disruptions and faulty equipment. Despite these challenges, the staff promptly addressed the problems and moved our family to alternative rooms without any hassle. Although not an ideal experience, the staff handled the situation as best as they could. They are hardworking and are making positive changes under new management. Overall, if you are looking for a luxurious, recently renovated 5-star resort, Mountain Laurel may not meet your expectations. However, if you are seeking a budget-friendly Pocono resort with some maintenance issues, you will have a pleasant stay.

Really from the date for a hotel today, but still a good stay. we got more rollbeds when we needed and all the other amenities in our suite were good. it is clean, although a trip back to the 20th century. directly on the autobahn also so super comfortable.

Read all of the other reviews, they say it all. Kind of hilarious how the owner responds to all positive reviews which are obviously solicited but only responds with some generic template when responding to negative reviews. My review is simple.The room I paid for is what the check in desk said was the VIP Suite I booked through a 3rd party service, Booking.com. My main issue is with them. However, unlike everyone else, I'm stuck here til my flight home on Friday, and I see from reading other examples that you won't be refunded your full room cost. So, I will use my time wisely.Mountain Laurel Hotel is in for a treat. You see, I run my own Painting and Restoration company. I do the majority of my work for several Property Management Companies. I will be contacting the County Office of Code Enforcement tomorrow morning. I have an extensive list of violations of PA. code, along with Federal ADA violations. Even worse for them, there are at least 3, Fire Code violations in my room alone. I've accumulated a photographic record of each Code violation. Tonight I will compile the photos and a list of all violations, which will be inserted into an email and sent out first thing in the morning. I am doing this NOW, while I am still here. I have the lawful authority to allow an inspector access to my room.I will also access property records online and locate the publicly available information on the entity that owns this property.
