I ordered a Canadian draft, waitress came back said they're out. No problem. Ordered a Stella, waitress comes back and says they're out. She's really embarrassed at this point. Not her fault, clearly the bar manager and lead bar tender are not communicating. Order a Heineken but she quickly informs me they're out of that too. It's almost their entire draft selection. So go to wine, order a bottle of Syrah from BC. Never had a red from BC before so wanted to try. She goes off, and no kidding, comes back 5 minutes later they're out of that too!! Seriously?!! It's not like they have an exhaustive wine list!! Thankfully she asked the bartender for all the available wine beforehand and finally our 5th choice worked. Bar Manager FAIL. . Now to dinner, if you must eat here stick only to the burgers and sandwiches. Had the prime rib, Milestone would do much better if they just ordered the seasoned prime rib from Costco. I've never had a prime rib so bland and uninspiring. The quinoa pilaf side was a major fail. I love quinoa but this was a flavorless joke. Seriously. No effort, no creativity, I think it was prepped just in a rice cooker. My wife got the beet and goat cheese salad, again uninspired. Really save your money and palate go somewhere else. The owner should be embarrassed for such poor value.
Never going there again. They actually turned away nine hungry and very thirsty customers. The patio was empty and they told us to leave. That is disgraceful and as it turns out we went to a much nicer place and had a very warm reception. Thank you Merlins.
Our food wasn't bad, but our service from the moment we walked in, until we left was awful. The staff were annoyed by our presence, it seemed. We asked for a table in the shade, and despite our request, were seated in a table in the direct sun because the hostess told us she didn't want to clean the table (it had been cleared, but needed wiped down). I ordered a tea and they charged me for a $9 alcoholic beverage then acted as if she was doing me a favor by fixing it. The terrible experience with the service ruined the decent food. There's plenty of better options!
I miss Monk's. While this overall looks a lot like Monk's (they kept most of the interior), there's just a certain charm that is missing. Certainly the food leaves one in want. Their burgers are slooowly improving, but are nowhere near the level that Monk's was at. Even the stuff at the Rendevouz tastes better, but I'm a sucker for juicy burgers whereas Milestone's has dry slabs. Their steaks are decent enough I guess, but since their in the same price range as the Keg, I'd go for the Keg any day. Even in a blizzard. I ordered the prime rib, and it tasted painfully bland. Granted, the onion straws that were crammed on that plate were delicious, but you know you have a problem when you dump onion straws on the prime rib to make up for a lack of taste. Perhaps the best item in the joint isn't even on the menu. Next time you're there, ask for wings with salt and pepper. Honestly it's the only reason I keep going back. Service here can really be a hit or a miss, since this spot has one of the more transient waitstaffs in Whistler. Even in dead season, you can have waitstaff ignore you the entire time, whereas there's the hyper attentive waitstaff during peak season, so it really depends. Long story short, if you're in the upper village, there's not too many other options. Give it a shot, but remember to ask for wings with salt and pepper.
The worst experience I have ever had in Whistler. Our waitress was very slow and didn't seem to care that we waited for over an hour for our food. Attitude. Then when the meal finally arrived it was stone cold. Terrible terrible restaurant.
