Ezumi Japanese - Whangarei

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. We visited to celebrate a birthday, and everyone enjoyed the fantastic food they served. Although it took a bit of time for our meals to arrive, it was definitely worth the wait. Overall, it was a delightful evening for all of us. I ordered the fried noodle bento, which was delicious and came in generous portions.

I would say that I can't enthusiastically rave about this restaurant, but I also can't complain. I ordered one of the Bento boxes, which was a generous portion and nicely presented. Although the meat was a bit tough, I really enjoyed the meal overall. Our food arrived quickly, and the service was satisfactory, considering we had a group of about 10. Although some plates were cleared while others were still eating—something that bothers me personally as a former waitress—the staff was very friendly and accommodating to our requests. I would definitely consider returning... at some point.

Hello, my name is Rose H. Pirini, and I used to live in Whangarei until about three months ago. I visited your restaurant every week—not to dine in, but to grab takeout through your little side window. Ever since I moved away, I haven't been able to enjoy my favorite Japanese dishes. I’m wondering if you could share the recipes for these special delights. I can remember a few, like fish eggs, sweet and sour pork or chicken, shiitake mushrooms, seaweed, and crabmeat. If there's a way to have these dishes couriered to me weekly, or if you could send me the recipes so I can attempt to make them myself, I would really appreciate it. Lost count of how many times we've eaten at Ezumi,never had a bad meal.Staff are delightful,service can be a little slow but who cares with food like this. Good Chefs shouldn't be hurried!

We eat here regularly, it is excellent value for money and food is always great.We have eaten in many Japanese restaurants and this has the best Beef Tataki and Tempura we have had. If you like green tea you must try it here. You may need to wave the wait staff over if you want a second drink but they are always friendly and wanting to please.
