Drunken Crayfish - Whangaparaoa

The fish and chips at this place in Gulf Harbour are reasonably priced and the best in the area. However, they may need to change the oil more frequently as the food can sometimes taste a bit stale.

The food at this restaurant is quite tasty, especially their crumbed snapper. The prices are reasonable and the food always tastes fresh. Whenever I don't have food at home or I don't feel like cooking, this place is always my first choice.

This is our local fish and chip shop, so we have eaten here quite a bit. I was surprised to see some negative reviews, as I usually hear people rave about this place. Personally, I really like it. The chips are always very good, although the fish can be a bit greasy unless you get it crumbed. My husband says the burgers and hotdogs are good. They don't automatically cut the toasted sandwiches, which is a bit inconvenient, but they taste as expected. We usually call ahead and the wait is usually 10-15 minutes, which is reasonable. For fish and chips, you can't get much better on this part of the coast.

Fantastic food at great prices, it may take a few minutes to get your order because they are usually quite busy, but it is worth the wait. Fish and chips are a favorite and their old fashioned potato fritters are the best north if the harbour bridge. Milkshakes are yummy. A real treat and you can walk across the grass and eat eat your food by he Gulf Harbour waterways rotunda.
