Mud Ducks - Whanganui

We were running late so on the phone, they sound kind and helpful. the caffe itself is located in a beautiful location on the river and some art galleries and a new street railway line. many people always eat a good sign there. the server was very friendly and helpful, got the impression vegans were very welcome although it was not a Veg Café. we had the vegan Burger white bread Burger-Back, falafel, rosti, Beetroot-Relish, roasted field fungus, brunning green salat leaves. they can order chips / horses on the side, but we have asked that they cook chickens in the same fat, so not vegan. Unfortunately, the really delicious looking muffins were milk-free, but not ice-free. the suppe of the day was Thai pumpkin that was vegan. we have not tried, but it shows that there are vegan options.

They need to ask the personal what the vegan options are. when we visited, it was thai green curry, thai kumara suppe, kumara salat and crushed green on toast. curry was ok, nothing special.

I stayed with mud to get a coffee. Although I was not hungry in the smallest, I could not resist the vegan caramel disc in the cabinet. delicious! I just wish I had more time in wanganui to enjoy a sit down menu and try some of the vegan options on the menu. I'm gonna show up next time.

We went here for lunch returned the next morning for breakfast. Mud Ducks is the only cafe we've seen in Whanganui offering labelled vegan menu options. I didn't see any vegan options offered in the cabinet food on either visit but the menu clearly states what is vegan vegetarian the staff were helpful knowledgeable on what can or can't be altered to vegan. I had the vege Thai green curry for lunch which was very nice. A good sized portion with good flavours. For breakfast I had the Veggie Breakfast which was also very good. The only thing I think it was missing was some toast. Also, good coffee on both visits. A vibrant cafe with quality food. Worth checking it out.
