Spice Junction - Whakatane

We went there two days ago and the owners were so courteous about being vegan. they made the mushroom pakora entre vegan especially for me and it was fantastic. then most dishes can be made vegetarian or vegan. no problem for them. try the veg jalfrezze!

A seperate vegetarian section of the menu makes it super easy to order. most dishes however contain ghee so that they ask for free milk to make this vegan. the personal is super courtesy and happy to help. they could try to warn them that it will taste worse when made milk free, but the dishes I tried were delicious. I had the chana masala and the palak aloo. They are also able to make the naan or roti vegan. excellent service and eating. large vegetarian option for whakatane. would like to dinate again and recommend others.

I ordered takeout on Friday night and found it easy to park. The restaurant is beautiful and aesthetically pleasing. I ordered stuffed mushrooms, butter chicken, and cheese naan bread, and was impressed with how quickly they were ready. The food was delicious and the portion sizes were decent. I highly recommend this place.

We had a fantastic dinner at this restaurant on Thursday night. The atmosphere was wonderful and the stuffed mushrooms were amazing! My wife really enjoyed the butter chicken, and I loved my hot Beef Vindaloo. The Mango Lassis were also delicious. Thank you, Spice Junction, for a great dining experience.

We had the onion bhaji, kadhai paneer and onion/chilli kulcha- so tasty, so fresh. The gravy of Kadhai paneer was different from what we were used to. I don't like paneer so I asked them to add more gravy and they happily did it. The raita was a little sweet and tangy- perfect mix with the spicy sabzi. Will definitely come back! Thank you for reminding us of India in such a tiny NZ town!
