The Dam Cafe - Whakamaru

Coffee was really good. The pies we had were made with quality ingredients. The service was warm and friendly. Would recommend as a good place to stop and have a break if you're travelling.

I can vouch for the chicken salad sandwich and the hot chocolate. I've driven past this little cafe many times without thinking to stop. I won't make that mistake next time I'm passing this way.

Kitchen closes quite early so was a little sad I missed out on the all day breakfast but can understand why and the sandwich I got instead was good. Webt in with low expectations for a last ditch in need of coffee so I was expecting my coffee to be butchered but it’s actually really very nice. Pleasantly surprised! Total Gem!

Dependable spot to stop in for a quality coffee and decent bite to eat. This place isn't trying to be fancy but is always value and busy with a hard working, local team that have been consistently providing a clean, warm place to stop at for many years in a remote rural area whenever passing through. That's why I'm giving it 5 stars. NZ needs more cafes like this instead of bland multi outlet franchises.
