The Boathouse At Saugatuck - Westport

We sat upstairs for brunch, and our waitress was incredibly attentive. The restaurant had a charming atmosphere, and the food and drinks (as shown below) were hard to surpass. Overall, it was a 10/10 experience! We're really glad we chose this place and hope to return soon!

The weather was perfect for sitting outside, and the location was simply wonderful. Both the food and service were excellent. I really enjoyed a delicious kale salad topped with a fantastic piece of salmon. I could have spent the entire afternoon there, just taking in the view, but I needed to get some work done. I will definitely return and next time, I'll try the dinner menu.

It is a nice spot to have a drink or dine in. The staff is nice and the food was tasty. We had the pâté to start which was delicious and their scallops were yummy! We lucked out with beautiful weather and will definitely come back again.

During the summer of 2022, my wife and I explored waterfront dining options in Connecticut and discovered this gem. Securing an outdoor table for dinner on weekends can be quite challenging, but I managed to book a table on June 6 for a dinner on June 25. My initial reservation was for two, but on the day of the setup, we decided to invite friends to join us. I called the restaurant to update our reservation, and they handled the request with great professionalism, ensuring there was enough space for us outside. They even called back to confirm that our reservation was successfully adjusted. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a friendly host and attentive waitstaff. They offered excellent recommendations, which we greatly appreciated. Our order included Local Oysters on the Half Shell, Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail, Chicken Liver Pâté, Prime Burger, Boathouse Lobster Roll, Apple Strudel, and Crème Brûlée. The Local Oysters on the Half Shell were incredibly fresh, with a delightful crunch. The Chicken Liver Pâté was delicious, though I'd recommend asking for extra bread to savor every bite. The Prime Burger was juicy and satisfying, though it didn't quite elevate to "excellent." The crispy fries that accompanied it were a great touch. The Boathouse Lobster Roll was a highlight—absolutely delicious, with a perfectly crispy yet tender roll. For dessert, the Apple Strudel paired wonderfully with the rich vanilla ice cream, while the Crème Brûlée, with its slight burnt aroma, struck a perfect balance, not too sweet, and utterly delightful. In terms of the food, I’d rate it a perfect 5/5. We brought our own wine, which incurred a $30 corkage fee. I do wish they provided an ice bucket for our bottle, but the service remained attentive and their food recommendations were spot on—hence another 5/5 for service. The view of the Saugatuck River was stunning. Since the patio faces east, we enjoyed our meal without direct sunlight during sunset, making it all the more pleasant—another 5/5. Lastly, the restrooms were clean and well-maintained, adding to an overall positive experience. In summary, we had a wonderful evening filled with great food, friendly service, and beautiful views!
