Sherwood Diner - Westport

I visited this diner for the first time while driving from Bloomfield, CT to New York. Unfortunately, our car broke down, and while we were waiting for the tow truck, we decided to stop in for a meal. We were seated promptly, the service was excellent, and the food was outstanding. The steak and eggs were particularly impressive! I would definitely make the hour-long drive again just to eat here.

We discovered this place by chance, and we were truly delighted! The food was delicious, and the restaurant was very clean with a bright and friendly atmosphere. It's an excellent spot for breakfast or lunch, offering that classic diner vibe without the sticky surfaces typical of older places. Well done!

I ordered a Chicken Melt, which featured grilled chicken breast with peppers, onions, mushrooms, and cheddar cheese served on a pita. I opted for the 'deluxe' version to include fries and coleslaw. My husband chose a Patty Melt, and you can specify how well done you want the burger; he also went for the 'deluxe' option. The food was quite good, and the prices were reasonable. The service was excellent, with all the staff maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor. I would definitely recommend this place and would love to visit again.
